What about that cricket?!?!?

Apols to my facebook friends, who had to put up with me during the game!
In case you have no idea what I'm talking about - here's an article to read and struggle through.

Advent of Christmas books: The Boxing Day test

The Boxing Day test by Sharon Whillis & John Bennett (Scholastic, 2002).
Patrick gets a cricket set for Christmas, but the family are all too tired/full, whatever, to play cricket with him. Bring on Nana and the first ever Brodie Family Boxing Day Test.
A tribute to cricket fans everywhere. I love Boxing Day games...

Go Mumbai! It was my support that did it...

Cricketing madness

After much debate and discussion, I have finally decided which team to support in the IPL - using the old kiwi standbys... the team with no (big name) Aussies, and the underdogs (who shouldn't be, by the way)... so go the Mumbai Indians!

Ryder rocks!

And McCullum... McCullum's strike rate of 170! Ryder's of 127. Record opening partnership for NZ v England...
Ten wickets! With 16+ overs to go!
It was a thing of beauty.
Especially interesting was the pitch mike not being turned off in time when Sidebottom spat the dummy, leaving Rigor in hysterics in the background...

Well, well, well...

What a start to the day... South Africa trouncing England in the World Cup 36-0!!

The only thing better than that was Zimbabwe beating Australia in the Twenty20 World Cup a couple of days ago!

Sport thoughts

It's time for little sleep... watching rugby and cricket. I'm so happy RWC2011 is in Auckland!
The Twenty20 world cup isn't generating much interest - or hype - apart from the whole Fleming not captain thing... and who is going to the rebel tournament - but, at least it's something different from the saturation of rugby. Love rugby, but sort of over it...
